Get Licensed!

If you are presently unlicensed and want to test for a license, this page will help you. If you are already licensed and want to upgrade, again, this page will help you.

VE Testing

Red Rose Repeater Association sponsors a Laurel VEC associated VE team to offer ham radio tests at no cost to the examinee. Sessions are regularly held at Thadeus Stevens 750 East King Street, Lancaster 17602, in the lower level of the Learning Resource Center.

Note: A government issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license) is required to be presented at test session.

FRN

A FRN is required for testing. You register for a FRC at the FCC’s website: https://apps.fcc.gov/coresWeb/publicHome.do.
Please register for a FRN prior to the test session and bring it along with you.

Pre-registration

Pre-registration is preferred (but walk-ins will be accepted), it helps with making sure everything gets recorded correctly and speeds up the paperwork on the day of the test. Please visit: https://hamstudy.org/sessions/RRRA/all?endDate=12/31/2025 or email Jason@W3PC.net to preregister
